Jakarta - Masinton Pasaribu, a member of the DPR RI from the PDIP faction, was reported to the DPR Honorary Council (MKD) after he submitted the right to an investigation to the Constitutional Court (MK). The subject of the complaint is an alleged violation of the code of ethics committed by the defendant regarding the proposed right of investigation to the Constitutional Court regarding the decision regarding the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates. "We have submitted a complaint to the DPR MKD regarding alleged ethical violations committed by Masinton Pasaribu as a member of the 2023 DPR Committee," said Syahrizal Fahlevy, member of the LISAN Ombudsman at the MPR/DPR Building.

Syahrizal believes that Masinton has insulted the Constitutional Court over the proposed use of the right to investigation. Because according to him the DPR is a judicial institution so it is not the subject of an investigation by the DPR.

In which he submitted the right of investigation to the Constitutional Court regarding the decision regarding the age limit for presidential and vice presidential candidates. That this proposal is an insult to the Constitutional Court which is an independent judicial institution, and is a form of arbitrariness by His Excellency Masinton Pasaribu because the Constitutional Court is a judicial institution so it is not subject to investigation. from 'RPD,' he said.

Syahrizal said that his party included a number of pieces of evidence in the report, including a video of Masinton's proposal which was submitted at the DPR plenary session some time ago. He hopes that Masinton will receive sanctions.

"Therefore, based on this report, we hope that the DPR MKD will impose moderate sanctions because according to the same ethical standards, Masinton Pasaribu's actions fall into the moderate category, the most serious is the transfer of membership to the DPR Council apparatus, a serious violation of the code of ethics," he said.
